Claiming your profile

If a relative added you before you joined, a profile about you already exists. Claiming it makes you its owner rather than leaving you as a subject of someone else's record.

Once claimed, you control the profile: you can correct it, change its visibility section by section, decide who may contact you through it, and ask for it to be removed from public view.

1. 1Search for yourself, or open the invitation link a relative sent you.
2. 2Choose Claim this profile.
3. 3Confirm your identity — usually by verifying the email or phone number on the invitation.
4. 4The profile's current owner or a platform reviewer approves the claim.

You do not have to claim a profile to have it dealt with. Write to privacy@worldancestry.net and we will act on it under our Privacy Policy, whether that means correcting it, restricting it, or removing it.
