Per-section privacy, living relatives, share links and what anonymous visitors can see.
Visibility is not one switch for a whole profile. Each section carries its own setting, so you can be publicly findable while keeping the sensitive parts closed.
A common configuration: the profile and its basic dates Public, contact details limited to Family, and the Health section — blood group and genotype — left Private. Health starts Private and stays there unless you change it, whatever your overall visibility is set to.
Profiles of people recorded as living are restricted by default, and their details are withheld from anonymous visitors regardless of which tree they appear in.
Please think before recording a living relative's contact details, religion, ethnicity or medical information if they have not asked you to. These are the fields that most often cause real harm.
You can generate a link that shows a single profile to someone without an account — useful for an older relative who does not want to sign up.
